John-Paul Kaplan is an acclaimed American-Slovak pianist, producer, and composer celebrated for his captivating performances, inventive arrangements, and remarkable versatility across musical genres. A designated Kawai Recording Artist, Kaplan has performed on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, and Walt Disney Concert Hall, earning praise for his expressive artistry and dynamic stage presence. He was asked to provide entertainment for various events on Capitol Hill and for the US visit of the Holy Father, Pope Francis.
Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Kaplan began studying piano at the age of seven, developing an early passion for the instrument that combined rigorous classical training with the improvisational spirit of jazz. Influenced by legendary pianist Roger Williams, he forged a distinctive style that fuses classical refinement with contemporary flair, resulting in emotionally rich performances that speak to a wide range of listeners.
Over the course of his distinguished career, Kaplan has produced 18 albums, showcasing his wide-ranging repertoire and creative vision. His recordings span genres from classical masterworks and Broadway favorites to cinematic and popular themes, reflecting both technical brilliance and a deep emotional sensibility.
